The Bread Dip Company was founded in Friday Harbor, Washington in the mid-nineties by Elaine Beaubien and her daughter, Laura Sterbenz. They had years of experience as caterers in San Diego and made the dips as fresh appetizers for their clients. Elaine decided that they should create non-perishable versions and thus the company was born!

They began selling at farmers markets and local stores with enthusiastic compliments from shoppers. After attending the San Francisco Fancy Food Show for the first time, they received several hundred orders from specialty stores across the country! They continued to attend shows in San Francisco and New York annually to build their business. Additional flavors were added as time went on, and a co-packer was hired to handle production and labeling of the line.

Laura retired in 2013, selling the business to Jim McCaslin, the current owner. Jim had a pickle business at the time and got word of her intention to sell, so he ended up buying The Bread Dip Company. Operations have since grown yet one thing has remained constant – the commitment to use only all-natural ingredients to create the highest quality products for consumers like you!
